Porsche, Embraer Unveil Exclusive Pair of 911 Turbo and Phenom 300
Embraer and Porsche collaborated to create Duet, a limited-edition pair of the Embraer Phenom 300E private jet and the Porsche 911 Turbo S sports car. Duet’s design makes it an ultimate dream for any collector. The pairing will have a starting price of $11 million and first deliveries will happen in 2021.
Two Brands that share Common Values
The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer and the German automaker have revealed a unique collaborative project named Duet. Initiated 4 years ago, this exceptional partnership brings together the two brands around a jointly conceived design.
Although they are from very different industries, the two companies have the same goal: to offer an international and affluent clientele exclusive vehicles which can be as personalized as can be.
“Porsche and Embraer share a host of common values” said Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization and Classic at Porsche AG. « As part of our cooperation, we used the know-how of both brands to work jointly on a unique pair of vehicles that are equally attractive for the customer group of jet and sports car owners. »
The Porsche 911 is the most iconic car of the German brand. This sports car is manufactured since 1964, eight generations of this car have succeeded each other with over 1000 sales. This car has always been synonymous with performance and user-friendliness in the automotive industry.
The Phenom 300 is the longest and fastest light private jet in its class. Introduced by Embraer in 2008, this single-pilot jet revolutionized the light private jets category with an exceptionally spacious cabin, a wide baggage hold and advanced technologies.
Duet combines a Private Jet and a Sports Car with Details
Both recognized in their own industry for the care they bring to quality and design, Embraer and Porsche have decided to produce only ten Duet pairs. It will only be possible to buy the two as a pair.
This special edition is primarily aimed at customers who place great importance on performance, innovation, technology and customization. It offers a seamless transition from airplane to car and ease of use in the daily life of owners.
“The design was all about exclusivity, but always focusing on the customers” said Michael Amlfitano president and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets
The exception to Duet lies in the aesthetic details of this unique design. The two manufacturers have prepared this pair with the most genuine dedication, sharing their expertise and their know-how. You have to look at the details of the Porsche 911 and the Phenom 300 to appreciate this series, no intervention having been made on the mechanics.
Duet Logo, Car Key and Aircraft Registration Number
Duet is a series of inseparable pairs. A logo has been specially designed for this limited edition, reminiscent of both business aviation and sports cars. It is found on the seats in the cabin of the Phenom 300 and in the interior of the Porsche 911.
Each pair also features a badge with ten lines, representing the ten pairs that will be delivered. Customers will have the option of bluing one of the lines to show their position among the ten units. In addition, their private jet registration number will appear under the spoiler and on the key of their 911.
“This is the perfect marriage of car and jet, as personified by the exclusive collaboration logo. The logo brings together the aeronautical requirement of lift — depicted by the Phenom 300E winglet — with the automotive requirement of downforce — depicted by the rear wing of the flagship 911. To further solidify this symbiotic partnership, the aircraft registration number appears on both the car’s rear wing and the sides of its key”, said Jay Beever, Vice President of Embraer Design Operations.
A palette of Metallic Gray, Blue and Chrome
Both vehicles use a common color scheme of metallic and satin gray, with thin decorative stripes mingling chrome and blue.
The 911 is fully hand painted, a rare feature in the automobile, to reflect Embraer’s private jet hand-painting processes.
Although private jets are generally white for heat reflection, both brands have decided to apply the same metallic color for Duet. “From an historical standpoint, many aircraft going way back had metallic exteriors, we wanted to also convey that metallic look, but with a high level of sophistication”.
The alloy wheels of the 911 Turbo S are laser painted in Platinum Silver Metallic with trim strips of Brilliant Chrome and Speed Blue. Lines that can be found throughout the fuselage of the Phenom 300E.
The Porsche’s air intakes are bright chrome to match the nacelles of the Embraer engines. Even the window sills of the Porsche 911 feature “No Step” as they are found on the wings of the Phenom 300.
A Luxurious Duet Interior Design
The interiors of the Duet Porsche 911 and Phenom 300 are perfectly similar to create an easy transition from airplane to car and vice versa.
The seats of the Phenom 300 and the 911 Turbo S have the same design. The seams of the seats of the private jet are modeled on those of the sports car. The belts are shaped like red straps as they are found in racing cars.
The steering wheel of the 911 adopts a unique color combination reminiscent of the Phenom 300′ yoke. A chronometer presents an artificial horizon inspired by the navigation instruments of the private jet. There are also LED door projectors that project the Duet logo to the floor when the doors are opened.
Exclusive Watch and Bagages
To mark this exclusive collaboration between Embraer and Porsche, Duet customers will receive a set of bagages as well as a pilot bag.
An exclusive watch made for the occasion, the 1919 UTC Globetimer Embraer, recalls the chrono of sports cars as well as the artificial horizon of navigation instruments. This watch, limited to ten units, is exclusively reserved for Duet owners.
